Why You May Want to Consider Veneers If You're Looking to Have a Celebrity Smile

A celebrity smile might seem unattainable, but if your dream is to flash a bright, even smile like the celebrities do on TV, your dream might be closer than you think.

Thanks to the magic of veneers, Dr. Karen Martinez and our New Smile Dental of Pico Rivera team can give you the smile you’ve always craved.

Keep reading to learn how veneers can turn a typical smile into a high-quality celebrity smile that will have your friends and family begging you for an autograph.

What are veneers?

Veneers are ultra-thin porcelain shells that fit over your teeth to hide various cosmetic imperfections, including chipped or cracked teeth, discolored teeth, oddly shaped teeth, gaps between your teeth, and more.

They usually consist of porcelain that can be custom-produced to match the color of your natural teeth. We also offer Lumineers, which are thinner, less expensive, and easier to apply to your teeth but may not last as long. Dr. Martinez guides you in selecting the best option for your situation.

Veneers are only a cosmetic treatment. They don’t strengthen or repair your teeth but address the cosmetic issues we mentioned. The advantage of veneers is that they’re identical in size, shape, and color, giving you that uniform, gleaming smile that celebrities so often flash.

What should I expect?

During your first appointment, Dr. Martinez will check your teeth and gums to confirm you’re a good candidate. Veneer installation requires removing a small amount of enamel from your teeth; after this step, we take impressions of your teeth to manufacture your veneers in a dental lab.

The lab needs a few weeks to create your veneers; Dr. Martinez may give you temporary veneers in the meantime. When you return for your second visit, we check the shape, fit, and color of your veneers before bonding them into place.

Immediately after the procedure, you can return to regular activities. To take care of your veneers, follow your typical oral hygiene routine of brushing, flossing, and regular dental exams.

Porcelain veneers should last at least 10 years. To protect them, avoid chewing on rigid objects, and try to use your back teeth for the bulk of your chewing when it comes to hardy foods.

If you’re considering veneers to create that celebrity smile you’ve always wanted, our New Smile Dental of Pico Rivera team has the experience and compassion you need. Call our office at 562-293-3784 or use our interactive online scheduler anytime to schedule an appointment!
